Film Audition

If you are/will be 16 by February 2020, there is an opportunity to audition for a feature film set in Scotland. If interested, come and see Mr. Mac at any break of lunchtime this week. The audition will be Tuesday 11th June in school. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in performance.

 

First minister reading challenge
Following a survey of pupils which highlighted how important reading is for developing literacy skills Linlithgow Academy has signed up for the FMRC.
Please bring something to read every day, a book, a magazine, a newspaper. You will be asked to read on the 10 mins after the bulletin has been read. Teachers will have subject related reading if you forget to bring it

Given recent damage to the study area in science, food and drink will no longer be permitted. There are signs up in the area to remind you of this. Only pupils in S6 should be using this area unless supervised by a teacher.

SKI TRIP 2020

There will be a meeting Wednesday 5th June at lunchtime in the PE classroom at 1.30pm. Please be there promptly as you will be receiving important information about the trip. Please see Mrs Leach or Ms Wright if you are unable to attend.

 

Can pupils who have a locker please return the key with Locker Number to the office by Friday 21st June 2019 in order to receive your deposit of £3. You will need to purchase a new locker after the holidays.

Pupils Keep Your Locker for Another Year

 

There are work placements available during the summer holidays for students interested in a career related to law.  There are criteria which need to be met to be eligible but if you are interested, please see Mr Forrester as soon as possible.

 

S5 Pupils

CMS, the 6th largest law firm in the world, is looking for two S5 or S6 pupils, hoping to go on to study law, to become their next CMS Law Scholarships winners for Scotland. The winners will receive £2,500 per year, for each year of their law degree, together with mentoring support and paid work experience with the firm. To enter the competition, CMS ask for a short essay and application form, which is to be submitted by Wednesday 26 June 2019.  Full details of the CMS Law Scholarships and how to apply on their website. Certain financial and academic criteria require to be met in the competition - CMS will be happy to receive queries from pupils to confirm their eligibility, if they are unsure about this.
