All Year Groups 

 

A Notice to All Year Groups. Prefect duties begin Thursday 29 August 

Prefects will be present around the school so please respect and listen to them.  

 

Reminder to All Parents and Carers  

Please do not park in the units on Braehead Rd when dropping off or picking up your child 

 

CHOIR 

Choir starts back next Tuesday 3rd September in room A7 at 1:30pm! All pupils are welcome! If you would like more information, come and see Miss Gillespie in the Music Department.  

  

UKULELE GROUP 

Ukulele Group starts back next Wednesday 4th September in room A7 at 1:30pm! All pupils are welcome to come along and see what we are doing this year! If you would like more information, come and see Miss Gillespie in the Music Department. 

 

West Lothian Foodbank 

  

Welcome back to our new donations drive! Thank you for all your support for your local foodbank, we're starting off looking for donations of these items: 

  

- Tinned tomatoes 

- Tinned tuna 

- Tinned cold meat  

Thank you for all of your support! 

 

The fencing club is now recruiting for new members. The Linlithgow Academy fencing club is one of the finest clubs in Scotland. We have all the equipment you need, excellent coaching and wonderful opportunities to compete locally, nationally and internationally.  All previous members and anyone interested in starting this amazing sport are welcome to join us in the games hall after school on Fridays (1pm to 3pm) and Tuesdays (4pm to 5:30pm). See the notice board outside the Games Hall or pay us a visit for more details. 

 

All Pupils  

Please remember not to open the exterior doors. All Pupils and Visitors Must be buzzed in by office staff and sign in appropriately.  

S1 Pupils 

S1 Scientists!  

  

Science Club will begin on Monday 2nd September in B8 at 1.30pm. This is an opportunity exclusively for S1 pupils where you will get the chance to carry out fun experiments and challenges that are not normally done during class time. All are welcome to come! 

  

Miss Baxter, Miss Histead and Miss Paterson :) 

 

S1 Girls and their parents are invited to the Hockey Club registration meeting in the library 6:30-8pm on Monday (26th). No experience necessary. Alternatively,  contact Lesley Benson (lesleybenson5@yahoo.co.uk), Judith Paley (jdpmdp789@btinternet.com) or Barry Owen (barry.owen@sky.com) for more information. 

 

S2 Pupils 

Historic Scotland Careers Workshop 

Historic Environment Scotland will be hosting a career event targeting S2 and focusing on opportunities within the Tourism, Culture and Heritage sector. This will be a great opportunity to learn about various job roles - ranging from archaeologists and historians to stonemasons, visitor services staff and education officers. This free event will take place on Thursday 19th September 2019 between 9:30am and 1:20pm with 20 spaces available. 

Anyone who is interested can collect a letter and EE2 form from Mrs Scotland (in B11) before Thursday. EE2 forms must be returned by Friday.

COURSE CHOICE CHANGES 

No changes will be made to courses after Friday 30th August.  If you wish to make a change you need to complete the form on the school website or the slips from the shelf at the front of the school.  Once changes are made a new timetable will be available from the school office usually within 24 hours. 

 

PARIS ART TRIP 

There will be a meeting on Thursday at 1.40pm in Ms Wright's classroom (C8) to discuss final arrangements for the Paris trip. All students going on the trip should attend this meeting. 

 

 

S5 Pupils 

COURSE CHOICE CHANGES 

No changes will be made to courses after Friday 30th August.  If you wish to make a change you need to complete the form on the school website or the slips from the shelf at the front of the school.  Once changes are made a new timetable will be available from the school office usually within 24 hours. 

 

Former Nat 5 and Higher Art & Design Pupils 

If you would like to request the return of your Art & Design portfolios from the SQA give your name and £5 to Miss Pantling in room C1 by Friday 6th September. Please be aware that portfolios not requested for return are destroyed and cannot be returned at a later date. 

 

If you ordered a bus pass please come and collect from the school office 

Ellie McGinn (5W2), and please come to the main office to get a photograph taken so you can get a new NEC card.  NEC card will not be produced until photograph has been taken. 

 

S6 Pupils

An S6 ONLY assembly is going to take place on Friday with all students needing to be in the hall for 10.10am. The assembly is being used to give students information on the new employability programme that will be running throughout the 2019/20 session 

 

Any S6 Pupil wishing to become a Mentor to S1 pupil should pass their name to Miss Dyer by the end of the day on Monday.

All Health and Well Being Buddies should meet with Mrs Weir in the Library at 1320 to begin Buddy Training 

 

We have Funbox doing a show on Saturday 31st August in the school they are looking for 

3 Helpers between 11.15am -2.15pm.  You will be paid to work. 

If you are interested please come and see Mrs Rennie in the school office.
