The new student-run Eco Club is starting up and looking for members from all year groups. Become a member and help make this school go green! We will be creating groups to improve aspects of the school including saving energy, improving recycling & waste and looking at a green canteen! If you have an interest in reducing our impact on the planet or you are passionate and proud about Linlithgow Academy and want to leave your mark on the school come along to B4 on Thursday 12 September to learn more.

West Lothian Foodbank 

Thank you everyone for continuing to support your local foodbank, a reminder that the collection point is next to the main door! This week's items are:

Drama club will take place in the drama studio on a Tuesday after school from 3:45- 4:30pm and will start on the 10th September. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

New 6-week cookery course starting week beginning 9.9.19 on Mondays/Wednesdays 3.45-4.15.  See Mrs Malone or Miss Welsh for more details, limited spaces available.

London Trip 

Letters have been issued to Geography classes over the past week. If you have missed a letter, please ensure you collect one from Geography by Thursday as notes of interest must be submitted by Friday 6th. For those who have a letter, please ensure these are returned by no later than Friday 6th. A list of successful names will be put up in the Geography corridor on Monday. 

 

F1 in Schools is recruiting for the development class team for next year for the 2019/2020 season.   

Do you want to work in a mini F1 Team where you design, test, make and race a miniature F1 car.  We need you if you want to be a designer, manufacturing engineer, want to be involved in marketing, fundraising or are a social medial guru!  

Come along if you want to take part.   Meeting in the Design Bay at 1:30 on Wednesday 11th September.

PARIS ART TRIP 

A reminder that everyone going on the trip should hand in passports and EHIC cards to Ms Wright by this Friday 6th. There will also be a meeting on Monday 9th at 1.20pm in C8 - attendance is compulsory as important information will be given about the trip. Bring your lunch!

A reminder that passports and EHIC cards should be handed in to Ms Wright by Friday 6th. These will be photocopied and returned to you at the bus when we leave next Thursday.

All S5/6 pupils intending to apply to UCAS this session should ensure they are following the UCAS timeline to ensure deadlines are being met.  A reminder that Personal Statement workshops are also available on Friday 6th September 12.30pm in C13, Monday 9th September 1.20pm in C13, Friday 13th September in B13 at 12.30pm and Monday 16th September 1.20pm in C13.  Pupils who have not already attended a workshop should ensure they sign up.  Mrs Mason 

 

PARIS ART TRIP

Rotary Challenge Enterprise 2019 

The Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange are willing to sponsor 2 S5/6 students (Aged 16 or 17) to participate in the 'Challenge Enterprise 2019'. 

This is a residential weekend Programme organised by the Rotary International District 1020. It will be from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th October in Carronvale House, Larbert. 

You will gain an insight into various aspects of business and participate in a range of challenges during the course of the weekend. This opportunity will allow you to develop your confidence and gain valuable business knowledge and skills.   

If you are interested, come along and collect an information leaflet and application form from any Business Education member of staff. There is a rigorous selection procedure and written applications must be in by Friday 6th September. For further information see Mrs Sandhu or Mr Lawrie. 

 

LONDON DRAMA TRIP 

All pupils who are attending the trip must come to a meeting in the new Drama studio on Thursday 5th September at 1:30pm. Attendance is a must.
