WATT ASSEMBLY TODAY

House Assemblies take place this week – Kelvin House on Tuesday, Watt House on Wednesday and Bell House on Thursday. Pupils should be seated in the assembly hall, in register classes, by 8.35 on the appropriate morning.

Can any student who is having lunch on the playing fields please ensure they are placing all rubbish in the bins around the school.  A number of juice bottles and other items have been left after lunch on a regular basis.  This is a teaching area so please tidy up after yourselves.

Pupils attending the author event on Wednesday 13th June will need to be let out early from their period 3 class. Pupils should go to the assembly hall for 11.00 to be registered prior to leaving for the event. The pupils will return from the event at approximately 1pm. The pupils involved are:

A reminder to all pupils who are involved in the ‘Track and Field’ Athletics competition at Grangemouth Sports Complex tomorrow to return your permission slips, EE2 forms and £2 to Mr Macbrayne in PE.

Remember to meet in the Sports Hall at the start of period 1 on Wednesday.

If you have ordered a Young Scot Card, please check with the office to see if it has arrived as there a several which have not yet been collected.

This is Book Amnesty Week.  This is a chance to return your overdue library books with no questions asked!  Just leave them on the library issue desk.

Reasons you should do this now:

 •    Failing to return a library book means there is less choice for others.

•    You might be hanging on to a book someone else is keen to read.

•    School budget cuts means there is no money to replace popular books that are overdue.

•    If your library book has been overdue for a long time it will be considered lost and you will have to pay the full replacement price.

MARY’S MEALS – BACKPACK PROJECT

Two years ago Linlithgow Academy sent, through the charity Mary’s Meals, over 100 filled backpacks to African nations in which impoverished children without basic resources struggle to gain an education.

This autumn, we hope to repeat this success!  Please hand in, to me, any usable backpacks you may have. These can be for any age group or gender of child from around 4 yrs to 12yrs.

We also need donations of:  tee-shirts you may have outgrown; towels still in usable condition; flip flops, a small ball or other pencils, rulers, erasers, notepads, pencil cases, coloured pencils or crayons and spoons.

You can also fill and hand in a filled backpack: please see details on the Mary’s Meals Backpack Project website.
