BREAKING NEWS: The Pupil Council will be holding a pupil feedback opportunity on the 1st Wednesday of every month. They can be found in dinning hall in front of the pre-order area from 1.30pm. As pupils this is your chance to share any ideas, concerns or suggestions with the Pupil Council team you have about the school. Make the Pupil Voice heard and have your say!!

Who are the Council?

S1 – S1 2018/19

Name: Orla Mayling
Favourite subjects: Music, Home Economics & Drama
Interests/Hobbies: Dancing, Drama & Baking

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to be part of pupil council as I wanted to have m say on how to make the school a better place and I think being a representative for my year group will be a great experience for me.

Name: Joe Tunicliffe
Favourite subjects: Maths, Design & Technology, Music & PE
Interests/Hobbies: I play piano, I like biking and I like running

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to be in the pupil council because I wanted to be a part of something important in Linlithgow Academy

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to have a say in the changes around our school and learn new social skills.

S2 – S2 2018/19

S3 – S3 2018/19

Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy playing the ukulele and doing art

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to share my views and help the school as well as represent a social minority (the LGBTQ+ community)

Why I joined the pupil council: I wanted to make a difference in the school and get more involved. I also wanted to represent my year and take on views, so peoples voices could be heard.

S4 – S4 2018/19

Why I joined pupil council: I joined pupil council to have a say in what happens in the school and help the pupil voice be heard.

Why I joined pupil council: I joined the pupil council to help pupils express their voice and opinion in our school. I feel I am an easily approachable person and I would like to help my year group and my peers to have a say in what happens in our school.

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to be a part of the pupil council because I believe that it is important for the voice of the student’s to be taken on by the school and I thought that I would be a good representative of the student voice in my year.

S5 – S5 2018/19

Interests/Hobbies: Playing in the school band, travelling and binge-watching tv shows

Why I joined pupil council: I think it’s important to ensure pupils at the Academy can and feel like they can have a say in school life. Hopefully I can be easily approached by my peers and I can carry their views forward.

Why I joined pupil council: To give the pupils a voice which could potentially lead to substantial positive changes in our school for the pupils.

S6 – S6 2018/19

Name: Rose Easton

Role: Vice Chair
Favourite subjects: Chemistry, Maths & Biology
Interests/Hobbies: I dance every week and done for over 14 years and I have just completed my silver Duke of Edinburgh.

Why I joined pupil council: I wanted to join the pupil council to be able to voice my suggestions to the head roles of our school and to also try and help solve issues and be involved in changes within our school. I have loved being a part of the pupil council since S4 has given me the opportunity to meet other people from different year groups to meet with important members of the public and to discuss important issues.

Interests/ Hobbies: Playing violin, piano, singing & netball.

Why I joined pupil council: I joined the pupil council in S3 because I wanted to become involved in Linlithgow Academy and contribute to what goes on behind the scenes. I have enjoyed watching the progress that has been made over the years and have loved being a part of The Big Quiz, Parliament Week and many other events which the pupil council are involved in. I cannot wait to lead more meetings and plan even more events with all the pupil council members for the school in the future.
